I like the East Kootenays and I would also like to put down my own roots into this area. In a similar fashion to the tree, I might stay in the same location for the rest of my life.
A picture of a new circuit on my workbench. I design the circuit, build the hardware, test, debug, and write code for the microcontroller that is a part of the circuit. Wires and cables and electricity are a part of my life and research!
Hydrology Paper of the Day @wbs2021.bsky.social on how nutrient scarcity affects a freshwater fish pathogen: genetic adaptations; morphological changes of bacterial cells; the influence of time and methylated motifs; the influence of temperature and genetic variability; and detection technologies.
The College of the Rockies Faculty Association (CORFA) planted a lilac tree today in the area in front of the College to celebrate their 50th anniversary. I attended the ceremony. I realized that the tree will probably be situated in the same place when I am much older.
This morning, I deployed a Canada flag on my porch. A mount was placed on one of the walls. The flag is waiting for Canada day on 1 July! Red and white against blue skies is beautiful.
I attended a film at the College of the Rockies tonight: Outsiderness by Nelson filmmaker Carlo Alcos. The film is about Carlo's search for belonging as a second generation Canadian.

The Kimberley Nature Park is hosting a hike on Sunday 14 June from 9:45 AM to 12 PM. I've found that these hikes are a great opportunity to visit different areas of the park in Kimberley, British Columbia.

A lesson in hydrology...A stream in a valley tends to meander back and forth, rather than run in a direct line. Location is Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. June 2019.
