Data demonstrate that glucocorticoid-induced leucine zipper (GILZ) acts as a checkpoint for naïve CD8+ T cell by establishing a threshold for activation. Modulation of GILZ could be beneficial in improving CD8+ T cell responses to tumor antigens.
