We've two places left on this excellent training in Ennis with Dr Conor McCabe. It's on Friday evening 6 - 8.30 and then on Saturday from 10 to 5.30. Conor is brilliant and will be taking people on a whistle stop tour through political economy and the Irish state. email [email protected]

We're delighted to be collaborating with Clare PPN to support Dr Conor McCabe in giving workshops based on his research on the Irish economy. These workshops will explore money as a social technology and draw on progressive and feminist economics to assess economic class relations within the state.

Mick Carpenter writes in our latest issue on decolonising community development, examining two 1958 texts, underlining how the formative years of community development were compromised by colonialism and then neocolonialism, creating persisting legacies buff.ly/EBjxXQp #CDJ #Decolonisation

Just showed up in my inbox - proof copy of the second volume of Connolly's collected writings - the complete shorter works. This brings together all of his pamphlets - including ones he edited which have never been republished. Amazing work by @iskrabooks.bsky.social On target for autumn release.
It occurred to me this morning that the folds in an A4 zine match the dimensions of a PowerPoint slide, so i experimented with a recent presentation and I think i might start handing these out at talks as takeaway notes. (Pretty happy with the improv folding bloc I made as well.)

OPINION with Sarah Clancy: Put the neutrality question to the people
This past weekend the Irish Times/IPSOS/B&A published a poll in which some of the questions posed to respondents focussed on Ireland’s so called ‘Triple Lock’ and our policy of military non–alignment, which is more commonly referred to as our neutrality. It won’t surprise anyone that I’m a big fan of Ireland’s traditional policy of non-alignment. It has served us well, seeing us through WWII, the so-called Cold War and the myriad of misguided adventurist wars (Iraq both times, Afghanistan, Libya etc etc) that we might otherwise have been part of and that many of our fellow country men and women who live in the six counties have been unwillingly made a party to.
