We demonstrate a strong correlation between the enzymatic activity of the NCY-1 β-lactamase from a Nocardia cyriacigeorgica clinical isolate and its to β-lactams. We report the crystal structure of NCY-1 bound to avibactam, supporting its broad inhibitory spectrum across Nocardia species.
