This kind of misinformation goes viral particularly fast because it supports many people's beliefs (Jeff Bezos is evil, AI is going to destroy humanity), and also triggers an emotional reaction, both of which tend to make people share quickly without checking first.

This Bezos quote about allocating resources to technology rather than humans is a good reminder to TRACE quotes to the original source before believing or sharing them. In this case, the trail leads nowhere. It is a a fake quote.
I think it's going viral because of an article from "The Print" published on June 20 that put a false quote and then retracted it. It's a good example of how hard it is to bust misinformation once it is out there.
Quick question for teachers: I'm making media literacy lessons, and wondering what format is most convenient for presentations. I was thinking of including both PDF slides + a link to an editable Canva presentation. Is there some other format that is preferable?
A lot of critical thinking topics, like logical fallacies, formal logic, and data analysis, are pretty abstract, which is why they are usually not taught until university (if at all). But we can use stories and real-world examples to make these topics concrete and accessible to younger people.
