but a cis person? there is no broader societal understanding of things that are "such a cis" thing to do. anything a cis person does (good or bad) is lost in the noise, entirely non-noteworthy. there is no shame or self criticism when members of a majority see a pitiful example of that majority.

trans people have an issue with perceiving ourselves as an oppressed class. i dont think it was until very recently that there have been major community discussions in which everyone involved understood that we have it bad and that we dont owe anyone anything to deserve better
very recently that has changed, and that is a good thing, but it's not overnight that an entire demographic of ppl just change their culture or change the worldview that they were brought up in. and even with the consciousness of ourselves as a discriminated demographic — we are still a minority.
