Extreme heat in the UK is hotter, faster, than climate models projected. This wasn't supposed to happen so soon - even 35C was supposed to be very unusual by now.
Only last year the Met Office said there was a 50-50 chance of another 40C day in the next 12 years. Looks like underestimate now surely
