This is important. Taxing the rich is about fairness, not a surefire way to fund our dreams so that we don't have to pay for them.

Why is it so important to me that Canadians understand how little the incomes of the rich were taxed in 🇨🇦 in the 1950s and 1960s?
Much less than in the U.S.
🇨🇦 did not tax capital gains until 1972. The top marginal rate was high, yes, but easily avoided.
Why do I want ppl to know this?
