Me watching DC election results come in and seeing regime-friendly McDuffie and Pinto losing
Hahaha. NPR doesn't know the difference between unnoticed and under-reported because they're guilty of the second one
Everyone should go read “Issues with Authority” but only if you can deal with psychic cult members working for the CIA and beauty contestants with holes in their bodies. Now Shirley Jackson nominated!!!
BACKROOMS: A furniture store owner discovers a door to what appears to be an endless office space littered with busted AI artifacts. Definitely more about eerie vibes than anything else, but as a "No-End House"-like expression of uncanny 90s suburban malaise, it's on point. Grade = A-.
LURKER: An awkward hanger-on worms his way into the inner circle of a self-obsessed singer-songwriter. Think Parasite x Ingrid Goes West, except this psychodrama about a symbiotic, toxic relationship is set between two young men in LA and suffused with menace and loneliness. Grade = A+. (HBO)
I feel like I should be more hyped about a movie like The End of Oak Street because I love dinosaurs, but I feel like I've just about mcfuckinghadit with generic suburban families in peril.
