I believe these differences lead to subtle variations in how players of different languages understand the characters, and that's something I want to explore
Discovering the subtle differences in worldbuilding and character personality across different language versions of Pikmin 4 is very interesting. Generally speaking, in the English version, characters' personalities are shaped through dialogue to be more outgoing, distinctive, and pronounced
In the Japanese version, characters tend to be more reserved, but there are clear differences in tone and speaking style
The Simplified Chinese version is a direct translation of the Japanese, so it doesn't differ much from the Japanese version — though the tonal differences between characters are even more muted
(I'm not good at Japanese. A lot of the time I have to use a translator to read it, so my understanding might have some inaccuracies or discrepancies)
