‘Why is publishing so expensive?’ url: journals.biologists.com/jeb/article/...
MSCA has supported many ECR and amazing research over the years. Yet, the increase in applicants (+64%) for MSCA postdoctoral fellowships (linked to ECR fleeing the US?) has not been met by an increased budget. Thus a score of 96.4/100 is not enough this year to have a project funded.

Some (old) but new research being finally published 8 years after conducting the experiment! @utu.fi @iphc-strasbourg.bsky.social @cnrsecologie.bsky.social doi.org/10.1002/jav....
I am extremely sad for the amazing young researcher who applied to join my lab, and for all the others. @ec.europa.eu, it is urgent to increase funding to support our young talents; they are the future of scientific reasearch and part of the barrier against the rising fascism and populism
Just starting to realize that double-blind reviewing (which is good) kind of conflicts with preprint publishing (which also is good). Has this been discussed? #ScientificPublishing
⚠️Paper out ⚠️ Here, we tested if extra feeding lesser kestrel nestlings during development (and under a heatwave) can help them deal with extreme heat. Spoiler: they really struggle. Extra food helps them grow when it’s just hot, but not under a heatwave. See 👇 www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
