Yesterday was the official kick-off meeting of the booster units of the University of Oldenburg where we presebted our #AnHuNav project ↘️ www.uol.de/anhunav ↙️ 🐏🐐🫏🐪🕊🏛🧭🗺 It was a pleasure to meet all other members and to discuss about #interdisciplinarity and related advantages, challenges and needs 🤩
Thanks to @sepikeshavarzi.bsky.social, @petrznam.bsky.social and Jason Kerr for a fantastic conference in Berlin! I am still filled with joy about the discussions and processing all new facts about how animals (species diverse as 🐀🐵🐳🐬🐟🦋🐜🪰🐦🦅) sense the world around them while moving through it 🧠🧭🗺

At today's @sfb1372.bsky.social meeting we had discussion on #diversity #equity and #inclusion and are solidary with #WomensStrikeDay #OhneUnsStehtAllesStill #WomenInSTEM 💜👩🔬🧪🙎♀️💜
In addition to all the cool #neuroscience input 🧠🧪, we were fed with amazing food 😋 and had guided through the campus in Dahlem to learn more about the last 100 years of science in the "German Oxford". Thanks to @mpinb.mpg.de and @maxplanck.de for making it possible 🙏
28 months later: In December 2024, I participated in the Ernst Strüngmann Forum on #Navigation #Research 🧭🧪 Now the book has been published including our chapter of group 2 ("team zoo" 🦠🐜🐦🦞🐒🦍🐢🤖) on the "Universal Principles of Navigation across Species and Spatial Scales" ↘️ doi.org/10.1007/978-... ↙️
✨️The RIN conference on Animal Navigation was great! My highlights:

🏅Introducing my team to the community, meeting old friends & new people

🐜 Super interesting & important @pnas.org study by @mpi-ce.bsky.social research team @yukoulrich.bsky.social revealing how complex the consequences of pollutants can be 😱 I was asked for my opinion about the study for @trouw.nl. A friend living in Amsterdam just sent me a copy of the newspaper 📰🥰
