Festius enlisted in the Cohors Prima Hamiorum Sagittariorum around AD 107, & served in a number of locations, including Carvoran & Housesteads on #HadriansWall. He ended up retiring to Thrace (modern Bulgaria) where he lived in a colony for retired soldiers
