Why has the cake not already been provided? This was first published in April, and was perfectly argued. Cake now!

Absolutely stunned by this thoughtful, creative, personal gift from my @ucscscicomm.bsky.social students! Thank you!
Each roundel contains colors extracted from the cover art for one of my favorite LPs, listed at the bottom. There's a colored ring for each track.
Congrats to our graduating class @ucscscicomm.bsky.social!
They’ll do great things. Follow their work!

So top marks for internet research, as well as for dataviz/information design!
Longtime energy reporter here. What's happening with virtual power plants has a momentum that surprising and encouraging, a pleasant kind of, "I didn't see that coming." Here's my latest:

I've owned an S-style guitar that is better than a modern Fender since 1985 (custom built by John Diggins for a friend of mine in the early 1980s). Cease-and-desist? WTF?
OK, we can't teleport back to the 1980s. But I don't think you can go too wrong for value by buying a Sire Larry Carlton (I have a T-style and love it). Or a PRS SE. Or I'm sure many other good brands, who should not be getting cease-and-desist letters.
Seems to me like the type of "misunderstanding" that should lead to the resignation of the CEO, a U-turn, plus a renewed commitment to quality control and price cuts to reflect the fact that people were paying for a name on the headstock that is now tainted and devalued.
