21. A Contract with God (Will Eisner, 1978).
Eisner drew heavy rain exactly as it feels. Man was a titan.
Share a cute bit of personal trivia? This was my first "grown-up" comic. For some, it's Maus. For others, Watchmen.
For me? It was Contract with God.
2. Atomic Robo (Brian Clevinger, 2007-ongoing).
Robo gives me that same, earnest, "modern pulp adventure" feel as Mignola's own Hellboy comics, albeit less in the fashion of the latter's gothic and more in line with Venture Bros-style retrofuturism.
It's a hoot of a series!
"why dont you ship-" it doesnt move my heart or my boner idk what to tell you. i dont choose where i end up.
