Elrond's light, loose clothes, which suggested he was safe and at ease with Adar, didn't quite fit with what it would mean to wield that sword in his hands again.

Elrond was picking up some covers from Adar's couch to wash them when he noticed the sword he had brought with him, resting in a corner. He hadn't moved it since the day he arrived.
He didn't intend to use it during his stay, but rather for self-defense along his solitary journey to Mordor...
