As the academic year draws to a close, I reflect that I've marked a lot of student writing this year. This is the first year, ever, when essays and dissertations universally have perfect grammar (and a lot of Oxford commas and M-dashes!). #LLM has become the sole mode of university delivery.

Everything is awesome in the scientific publication industry.
A gentle morning drizzle, what I call “intermittent wiper rain”. Reminds me of my PhD years in Seattle, where it was seldom strong enough to make an umbrella worthwhile.
As a US citizen working abroad whose subaward was forcibly stripped from an NIH grant last year because my lab is “foreign”, I’d say I’m unlikely to ever agree to be on a US grant again anyway. Too risky. #AcademicSky
