I have not confirmed this yet but there may have been quite a fireball (bright meteor) over New England, and it created a shock wave heard by a LOT of folks. Nothing on the AMS site yet.

Another video of the explosion, possibly from a meteor entering and burning up in atmosphere, heard earlier throughout Boston and other areas of Eastern Massachusetts.
