I was too youthful still to realize that the helmet catch would be one of these eternal grudge engendering moments but I lean into my irrational abyss for this as a healthy sublimation of other resentments and angers

Just when I think I can pull for a New York team, I remember 1969. The Jets, Knicks and Mets beat my beloved Baltimore Colts, Bullets and O’s. It was a rough year. And yeah, I can hold a grudge. That’s what real sports fans do.
