👉️ Economics is a social science that helps us to understand the behaviour of decision makers such as consumers, firms, workers, governments, investors, central banks and regulators.

Recent graduates have taken up positions at institutions like the Central Bank of Ireland, ESRI, IGEES and the CSO, while others have pursued careers in economic consultancy, economic development, retail and investment banking, and financial services.

The BA International Economics provides a deep understanding of the workings of the global economy: how goods and assets flow between countries; how monetary relations operate on an international scale; and how financial crises spread.
The Department of Economics offers partial scholarships worth €3,500 to those beginning the one-year MSc Economics Programme (MU Apply Code: MHH52) in September 2026.
Application deadline for students from Ireland and other EU countries: FRIDAY, JULY 3rd, 2026, 5PM (Irish time).
