Bluesky has been so unusable for me for the last few days. This happens often for the mobile app version, a lot of the time it's stuck loading things up even though my internet connection is fine. What the hell is happening, Jay?
Vietnam is rapidly becoming one of Asia's economic powerhouse. Not just SEA. Asia.
They've overtaken Indonesia in terms of GDP/cap PPP. Highest overall growth as well.
And what is Indonesia doing to compete? None. We're just beating up gay people because it "violates our religious convictions."
I've never felt peace in this religion. All those homophobic attacks are always made by religious people. Not all but it's always them.
I wasn't directly attacked, but seeing other people getting the brunt is paining me as well.
No to Sharia law. Period.
Just finished reading this novel. What piqued my interest is that the story is an allegory of the Indonesian invasion of East Timor.
It's set on fictional countries, but I had a lot of "a-ha" moments with the amount of events based on real Indonesian history.
Also, the MC is gay. (1/2)
I guess bro
The first-person narration is deeply thoughtful, but often this left the reader to fill in the surroundings. It felt personal and the story throughout feels very bittersweet. (2/2)
