i was sort of split on whether we'd see more constitutional hardball in 2028 or 2026, but the fact that Trump is already basically trying to investigate Newsom makes me convinced that they will not handle it well if they lose the legislature

part of the reason i'm more certain that 2026 is going to lead to some level of constitutional hardball or crisis is that when you notice how the ecosystem of the right works, there's basically no perception of the fact that Dems are likely to going to retake one (or two) chambers of the legislature
