The House gives final approval to $70 billion in extra funding for ICE (immigration enforcement) and the Border Patrol.
The House Rules Committee voted 7-4 along party lines on Monday night to defeat plans from Democrats to stop the Trump $1.8 billion 'anti-weaponization' fund, and to prevent Jan. 6 convicts from getting any of that money. All Democrats supported the measure. All Republicans were opposed.
Two more US House incumbents lose their bid for another office. Reps. Norman and Mace failed to make the GOP runoff for Governor in South Carolina

As I wrote in my newsletter this morning, on this date in 1964, the Senate voted 71-29 to shut off debate on the Civil Rights Act. It was truly bipartisan. 44 Democrats and 27 Republicans voted to force a final vote. You might recognize some of the names.

Rep. Tom Kean R-NJ has now missed 122 straight votes. He last voted on March 5. The second longest House streak belongs to Rep. Ralph Norman R-SC, who has missed 18 in a row (he is running for Governor).
