The contempt for citizens, voters, workers, humans, is universal.
If the federal government introduces legislation to limit AI for children under 16, it will be interesting to see how that works with schools.
As with limiting social media, it would require everyone who uses these products to submit their ID to a lowest-bidder company, with inevitable dara leaks.
New York city council are showing that they truly care about students' education.
Will VSB Trustees elected in October have the guts to do the same?
One of the ways in which AI is justified in schools is "because it helps with programming."
Using an LLM is begging a black box to output the right answer. Just one more prompt, written just right, and it might work.
Teach students to code for themselves and they don't need to beg.

This is a huge step forward for giving students a chance to learn. A chance to experience the friction that comes from thinking for yourself. The friction that makes the information stick. 💪
It is an extremely cost-effective strategy.

well thats very cool, much better than what i do, which is read a book to my son every night. sometimes 2 or 3. i do lots of voices and gesticulations, sometimes i use puppets. he falls asleep the instant i leave the room. but with this i can spend all that extra time learning to code or whateve
