One of the many reasons I prefer latex/beamer for slides is that the presets put hard limits on how much can go in a slide
The slides should have *less* information than your speech
And remember to set that aspect ratio to 16:9 (the format of most projectors)

Keep text to a minimum. All slide text should directly connect to a statement/point you’re saying out loud.
Each slide should focus on a single task/idea/point. Don’t cram too many steps into one slide.
