Just finished Daughter of the Merciful Deep by Leslye Penelope. Historical paranormal, a Black town displaced by the TVA, African traditions, and a sanctuary world woven into the magic. Slow start but incredible characters, and once the paranormal kicks in it's impossible to put down.

Linen vs Lugana: Lugana is an evenweave, stitches are consistent and grid-like. Linen isn't, slightly more organic feel. In the dye bath, Lugana always comes out lighter. Sometimes dramatically. Sometimes barely. Neither is better, just different.
