A fig gall, seen on an Elm leaf, on a recent local walk. It’s caused by an aphid, Tetraneura ulmi, which has a very interesting life cycle best explained by the following link.

We hadn’t seen a Wasp Beetle until around three years ago, then a few weeks ago we spotted two in one day. Yesterday we found one in our very own garden. Now that’s excitement for you!
