New preprint🧊🔬Introducing LowDoseWizard—a guided SerialEM workflow for rapid, standardised cryo-TEM setup!
Setting up low-dose can be slow & daunting, especially for new users. LowDoseWizard automates optics, camera, and alignment steps from minimal input — full setup in <15 min.

Huge thanks to @aafkegros.bsky.social for Microscopy nodes and @bradyajohnston.bsky.social for Molecular nodes! It’s amazing to see how @blender.org evolved since I first used as a kid ~15yrs ago! That’s how I got into Science and my inner kid is for sure proud and honoured of choosing this path! 🥹🥰
Thrilled to share the updated video of my paper in Nature with Maciej (under supervision of @simonemattei.bsky.social & @jomaalab.bsky.social) Proud to use Cryo-ET to uncover how hibernation factors are key to translation restart! To model PTMs in situ and render animations fulfilled my PhD dream!🥹🎉
Really happy to share my 1st first-author work during my PhD @embl.org co-leading with Maciek! 🥳 A serendipitous project shaped with a lot of curiosity and “coffee” (no hibernation😅) I’m really proud of the story we built together! 😊 Excited to share the final version soon with even cooler results 🤩

Microscopy Nodes is now up on bioRxiv! 🚀
This is a Blender extension that seamlessly integrates and visualizes 3D microscopy data (TIF & @zarr.dev).
High-quality volume rendering for anyone, in both EM and fluorescence, regardless of computational expertise! 🔬

High-resolution in situ cryo-electron tomography in Schizosaccharomyces pombe identifies SNOR protein, which binds to ribosomes during dormancy induced by glucose depletion, priming them for rapid reactivation of protein synthesis upon glucose repletion.
Excited to share our work uncovering SNOR, a ribosome-associated factor that promotes translation restart after dormancy published in Nature!! This was, as usual, a wonderful collaborative effort between our group and the Mattei Lab @simonemattei.bsky.social @embl.org www.nature.com/articles/s41...
