Here's a recap of yesterday's rather interesting severe weather event across New England, including information on Vermont's tornadoes: newenglandstormcenter.substack.com/p/two-tornad... #VTwx #NHwx #MEwx #MAwx
A tornado watch has been expanded eastward this afternoon. The initial squall line has entered Vermont, with scattered severe thunderstorms embedded. This line will continue to march east through the afternoon. #VTwx #MAwx #CTwx #NHwx #MEwx
Tornado warnings continue in the Worcester area at this time (our power has been knocked out here at NESC). #MAwx
The squall line is coming together across New England. Widespread severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect along it. #VTwx #NHwx #MAwx
The NWS of Burlington has confirmed 2 tornadoes in Vermont yesterday. There has been no word yet from the NWS of Boston regarding tornadic potential in central Massachusetts. #VTwx #MAwx
Two EF-1 tornadoes have been confirmed across Vermont yesterday. The one in Woodstock caused extensive tree damage as well as some roof damage. These are the 2nd and 3rd tornadoes in New England this year, all 3 have occurred in Vermont. #VTwx
The squall line continues to hold together as it marches across New England. Straight-line winds in excess of 60mph continues to be, by far, the greatest impact. Torrential rain is also occurring. #MAwx #NHwx #MEwx
This afternoon was a big question regarding severe weather potential. A squall line did form and march across New England. Here are the initial numbers from today: #MAwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx
As storms continue to push east, nearly 20,000 are without power across New England, with 11,000 in Vermont. Scattered severe storms continue to push thru northern areas. #NHwx #VTwx #MAwx
After yesterday's activity, calmer weather returns before the next weather-maker arrives around Monday. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx newenglandstormcenter.substack.com/p/calmer-wea...
