Discussing media business models, @talestomaz.bsky.social said "we found that there is no news business anymore. We can't commercialise news as we used to do." Future business models will certainly include a mix of news and tech funding, with high risks associated with independence.
The #ReMeD Observatory is a public platform hosted by @uiagder.bsky.social aggregating research on democratic challenges across Europe, such as gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights, war and conflict, socio-economic inequality, eroding trust in democratic institutions, climate crisis, and immigration.
Last week in Brussels, the #ReMeD project presented a shared diagnosis of the challenges facing the European media system and, above all, a roadmap with concrete proposals to strengthen its contribution to democracy after three years of research in eight European countries.
We've just kicked off our final conference in #Brussels 🇧🇪 The #ReMeD team is going to present the results of its three-year work and discuss findings with the audience.
One of the outputs is the #ReMeD observatory, which curates news articles on several topics such as the climate crisis, conflicts, gender equality, socioeconomic inequalities, etc. Check it out ⤵️ elearning.uia.no/observatory/
Did you know that Meta's policies exclude political speech from its fact-checking programmes? Under the justification that political speech is already heavily scrutinised. Read more about it in this policy brief ⤵️ resilientmedia.eu?p=1915

Interesting findings by @andreasriedl.bsky.social & @thanitzsch.bsky.social on how peripheral actors active in the field of journalism perceive themselves and their role. "Over time, as new technologies come, the boundaries of traditional journalism are shifting". Read more in this ITW ⤵️
Our research also pointed out inconsistencies with content moderation practices between platforms, such as different and insufficient transparency on decisions. Check out this webinar for more info ⤵️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEL7...
