A weird thing about late stage capitalism is how it incentivizes spending more on projecting the idea that you're doing something than it would cost to just actually do that thing.
It's more important to make you think they have a product worth buying than to actually have a product worth buying.

So I went to Xbox's Fan Fest event to attend a preview event. And it was the most flagrant display of wealth imaginable. Five stories filled with caterers and hundreds of smiling faces there to assure me of the brand's strength.
