Everyone's very angry about X and with good reason bc it's become a fascist sewer, but since we're all Twitter refugees I think we're overstating its importance in the wider information ecosystem.
There are more people, and worse posts, on Facebook, and no-one seems to bat an eyelid about it.

The government continuing to post on X gives the media all they need to justify continuing to use X posts in news broadcasts. X becomes agenda-setting in the way front pages did even when most people stopped reading newspapers.
