In case anyone doubted the authenticity of this exchange, following @brianstelter.bsky.social's outreach to Brendan Carr last year, it has now been confirmed in a FOIA lawsuit filed to overturn Carr's texts.

I have FCC Chairman Brendan Carr's cell phone number — because the FCC accidentally revealed it in response to a FOIA request. (They forgot to redact it.)
