i think overall trying to "hide" the break is the wrong move, solutions that integrate the flaw into the final look seem to be the better choice
ok I calmed down a little, there's a handful of ways to fix this that give vastly different results and have very different costs, so it will come down to figuring out which look i prefer and how much i wanna spend on it
