Is the Microsoft Office Ribbon causing people to have fewer children? A provocative new working paper explores the persistent drop in birth rates since Office 2007 was introduced nearly two decades ago.

In Ireland, the years leading up to the release of the iPhone were the last years where having a good job meant you could afford a decent house. The door slammed shut on that just after 2008 - no inherited money = no gaff for you.

Also, laying the blame so fully on Musk - who is absolutely a dangerous and contemptible racist creep - is very convenient for the UK's newspapers, news channels and politicians who've either spread the self-same racist myths, 24/7, for decades, or have entirely abandoned any pushback against them.

Does the council's site at Camden Yard really have to be offices – and should it be? As plans for the council to build it out progress, there remains something of a split among councillors as to what would be positive, and what would be possible.
These are the real people of Belfast. Thousands of anti-fascists rally against the far-right at Belfast City Hall today. They sent a clear message that racism is not wanted in their city. Things you love to see ✊❤

Aerial PARTIAL view of the anti racist, anti fascist crowd in Belfast right now. City Hall to the left for scale. This - this is the real Belfast. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

I think we have to be careful about crediting Musk with power he doesn't have. That way you help feed the myth of being the omnipotent all-powerful puppet master that controls everything that happens in the world. That's the main psychological con-trick they use to make opponents give up in advance.

A new stretch of bike lane with an unusual design is about to go in at Connolly Station in Dublin. It’s a bit odd, but pretty clever in my view - currently cyclists have to cross 3 lanes of traffic to get onto the quays going west and this should help make that safer irishcycle.com/2026/06/13/t...
