In Ireland, the years leading up to the release of the iPhone were the last years where having a good job meant you could afford a decent house. The door slammed shut on that just after 2008 - no inherited money = no gaff for you.

I think we have to be careful about crediting Musk with power he doesn't have. That way you help feed the myth of being the omnipotent all-powerful puppet master that controls everything that happens in the world. That's the main psychological con-trick they use to make opponents give up in advance.
