To borrow from @mariepetersmann.bsky.social in 2023, the theoretical lineage of critical fabulation matters. 1) It's not "from literary theory"; it's by Saidiya Hartman, & explicitly rooted in Black feminist justice. 2) It demands deep immersion in archival materials, *not* avoidance of them. 1/2
