I like bicycles and coffee. Active transportation policy nerd mostly in a California context. Movement by bike, on foot, on buses and trains. I've been around. Old GenX guy who respects pronouns. He / him.

Somebody left a two star review for this bike parking area (Misawa eki East bicycle parking lot) because the toilet (presumably inside the train station) isn't a bidet.

Bicycle Karaoke?
"Yellow Submarine" in the style of Minyo (Japanese folk music) as performed on late night variety shows.
I saw this catbus schoolbus while biking around today. I wonder if they have to pay a license to Ghibli for this. photos.app.goo.gl/t1rVETXLU5MG...
"XLeat" $200 road bike at the train station is a standout because every other bike here is a flat bar bike with baskets and / or fenders. Note the thin cable lock connecting the rear wheel to the frame.
I'm headed to a coffee shop. Google Maps told me to go down this road and I don't hate it.
Mountain View Caltrain is a major transit transfer spot for people traveling to San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. The US Transportation Security Administration has decreed bike lockers there are a security threat, so they are unavailable during the World Cup. Car parking remains readily available.
Japanese kitchen fire extinguishers come in an aerosol can.
This sign at the bike parking area says "Don't forget to lock your bike! Beware of bike theft!"
Cream Soda was instrumental in defining Harajuku's youth culture in 1960s Japan. This poster in an old service station 500 km away from Tokyo manned by a couple of geriatric mechanics in pristine blue coveralls who were in that overly polite Japanese customer service mode delighted me.
