I should add that Dominika SHOULD have tattoos from the bratva, but werewolf changing erases the ink, and the scarring is too faint to really detect.

The core impetus was a conceptual image in my head of Sulaf. An ancient vampire with the Sight, locked in a ridiculous, hyper-secure cell because she's just that dangerous. I also wanted a vampire story for my TaMB series.

I don't actually have any characters with obvious piercings or tattoos. I DO favor scarring to mark harsh experience. Dominika has a massive scar running from cheek down to near her navel. Rieka has lots of smaller scars all over. Selene has scars on the edges of her prosthetics.
