My mum was cremated this morning and we marked the moment with bubbles.

'I'm going emergency water vole surveying!!'
Why 'emergency' I hear you ask? 🤣
Well, part of river path has collapsed & we need to carry out a new survey, compare it to last one... and then advise so they can rebuild path with minimal disruption to little furry critters.
Exciting, eh? ❤️
Mum's not having a funeral, or a service, or indeed anything at all.
In her words, "I'm going to be burnt & then the crem can do with me as they wish".
Ever ecological, economical - & genuinely radical - to the last. ❤️
My mum died yesterday.
Scholarship girl, med-lab scientist, journalist, activist, environmentalist & so much more. My daughter's granny. My mum.
Mum had ovarian cancer. Had assisted dying been available to her, she would have taken it as her illness was cruel. Thankfully her death was kind.
