Congressional Republicans are backing the Trump administration’s effort to rebrand the Pentagon as the Department of War, inserting language into must-pass legislation that would make the name change official.
It still faces hurdles to become law.
Republicans pushed a proposal to officially rename the Defense Department into early versions of the House and Senate defense policy bills.
