Netanyahu still hasn’t spoken to the Israeli public or even released a statement (unsurprisingly). IDF spokesperson was sent to say Israel won’t let Iran establish the equation it attacks Israel in response to action in Lebanon. I’m just not sure what Israel will do now that Trump has spoken.
Trump is currently calling and texting every single Israeli reporter on his speed dial (and there are quite a few) to tell them he’s not going to let Netanyahu retaliate. He’s not leaving any room for error here.

Again, I doubt Israeli actions were a surprise to DC given degree of mil to mil cooperation and coordination. But Trump very clearly looking to shut it down.

But Trump did the same thing back when Israel struck Qatar. The main point is that his statement tells you more about what he values (ceasefire w. Iran) than about the state of coordination between the militaries of US and Israel which remains very close. 2/2
