Why are people panicking about this yet?
Obviously panic won’t help. But action will. And there is soooo much we could do if we all (people, media, governments, universities, business …) just got ok with it.
It’s May. The leaves on raspberry plants look like they’ve been under a grill. This is not normal. It’s not even the new normal. It’s going to get worse every year until we stop burning fossil fuels. Let’s all work together to turn this around.
Over in the USA - rebels block access to hotel where the Northeast LDC Gas Forum is meeting; demanding that Massachusetts ban new fossil fuel infrastructure & rapidly transition off natural gas. GAS is BAD for MASS!
The U.S. military is the world’s largest institutional polluter. With powerful testimonies from veterans, scientists, and frontline communities, this film uncovers how military operations poison ecosystems & accelerate global heating.

Hollywood taught us that when disaster strikes, humans turn on each other. That civilisation is just a thin veneer over our true, savage nature.
@rebeccasolnit.bsky.social spent years studying actual disasters. She found the opposite.
People turn to each other.
Communities stand together.

This is so important – we’re embarking on a societal transformation and the only way to get legitimate, socially-acceptable & stable outcomes is for that transformation to be negotiated, not imposed
The more participatory the decisionmaking, the better the decisions & the more acceptable they’ll be
