I am looking for someone fab to join me at Strathclyde on a funded PhD studentship on the history of unorthodox health activism. If you are that person, or know someone who is, there's a month left to apply! #HistMed www.strath.ac.uk/studywithus/...
This week has been a big week for me: finally sent away a full (if very rough) draft of my PhD project; got my first research publication out there; started a new job at Kelvingrove.
Will be taking a much-needed break from PhDing next week but I think I've earned it. Next up: PhD submission.
There is a gathering on the Buchanan St steps in Glasgow with White Unity banners of the ethnonationalist far right prominent
Anti-fascist demonstration this Saturday coming. Great to see such an immediate response to far-right thuggery in Glasgow. Make sure they know that they don’t run this city, they’re not welcome here and that if they try it again they will pay for it.
About 100 masked fascists walked right by me and my friends tonight. Reading now that they had battered and chased non-white people they encountered on their way through Glasgow City Centre. Anti-fascists need to respond to this. It can't go unchecked and we can't let them harm our neighbours
My first journal article, ‘Resistance and Resilience in Edinburgh Council Housing Schemes’ is now live!
Based on my PhD research, it looks at the connections between everyday social life and episodes of housing struggles in the 20th century
