PRESERVARE at the GDCh Conference in Lübeck. Last week, @carmenschmechel.bsky.social presented a work-in-progress paper (with @thijselfrink.bsky.social) on early modern fermentation in the Low Countries: "Fermente und Fermentationen in den frühneuzeitlichen Niederlanden." Stay tuned!
Today we had the pleasure of a guided tour through the exhibition At Home in the 17th Century by one of its curators, @marijnstolk.bsky.social. It offered a window into everyday life in the 17th C — including this pantry, used to store food and keep it fresh for as long as possible.
📸 Some snapshots from today’s hands-on (!) ink and pigments workshop organized by @jessiewhchen.bsky.social. Thank you!

Timing is everything! In her new Ambix article, Carmen Schmechel (@carmenschmechel.bsky.social) explores medieval Latin alchemists’ search for the “Goldilocks moment," i.e. the exact moment to take the metal from the fire. It is available open access: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
This Tuesday, the PRESERVARE team visited the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen. We are very grateful to Laura Roscam Abbing for taking the time to guide us through the museum and generously share her insights.
