An update on where things stand on FISA: Early Friday morning, we successfully defeated a bill in the Senate to rubber-stamp the Trump administration's authority to spy on Americans without a warrant. This is a big win on privacy.
This person will be in charge of warrantless FISA surveillance
These two guys are like 2/3 of the people who decide if warrantless FISA surveillance is OK

Wyden responds to Republicans voting against his proposal, claims they are working to hide surveillance abuses that he’s previously said are classified and would shock the nation. (Many Republican also back his proposals.)

It is now crystal clear who is obstructing reauthorization. Cornyn & other reform opponents would rather see Sec. 702 expire than allow reforms to protect Americans’ privacy. Sen. Wyden offered an easy path forward for extending the law. Reform opponents would prefer sunset. 2/2

Senator Cornyn just blocked a 9-month extension of Section 702 with a warrant requirement for backdoor searches. He then blocked a 5-week extension with no warrant requirement, just basic transparency measures. 1/2

It's not just Pulte "Everywhere you look, Todd Blanche is lying to target Trump’s enemies. More and more, judges are ruling that Blanche has engaged in misconduct to target Trump’s enemies. And you think that guy is credible to sign FISA declarations?"
Wyden on FISA surveillance, April 28: "The only path forward is reform" It is now June 5! How many failed attempts before Republican leaders put real reforms on the table?

NEW-NEW: Hearing @wyden.senate.gov is now offering two options for unanimous consent on the floor: a 9-month 702 extension that requires warrants to view Americans’ communications, or a short 5-week extension with basic transparency reforms.
POTUS says Pulte will take over as acting DNI beginning June 19. Gabbard was originally supposed to leave her post at the end of this month.
