This week's Friday murder is set in Grosmont, a village which didn't actually exist in 1841. Despite a church, a reasonable permanent population and an ironworks, Tunnel - the area around the tunnel on the Whitby and Pickering line - didn't get named properly until the 1850s.

I had a wonderful weekend at Alibis in the Archive at the fabulous Gladstone’s Library. It was so lovely to meet everyone and chat about all aspects of crime fiction, and of course Victorian detectives and their sleuthing skills. A fantastic experience!
Today is the centenary of the death of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí. I visited La Basílica de la Sagrada Família last year, and it is absolutely magnificent.
