Yesterday the Kids & I walked around my neighborhood on a Public Fruit Quest. We tried serviceberries, mulberries, & blackcaps, & identified some peach spots for later. Emphasized that you do not harvest unless an adult is with you & ONLY if the fruit is hanging over the fence on the sidewalk side
We also tried to note landmarks to help us find fruit spots again & ways to identify the trees & bushes themselves even out of their fruit season, & practiced thanking the plants (verbally & by sprinkling a little dried lavender)
