We are Janet and Amanda. 2 cats living our best lives on an allotment in Birmingham UK. We take it in turns to write messages. Betty (human) helps us.

I am very slowly settling down at the allotments.
I won't let any of the humans touch me, I'm not ready for that yet.
I have food every day and I also help Amanda to eat hers.
I'm getting used to Auntie Rachel taking my photo every time she sees me.
I'm glad I chose to come and live here.

I never miss a chance to jump up onto Colin's lap.
I think you can tell from my face that I enjoy it!
I think Colin likes it too.
Until they started looking after cats at the allotments Betty and Colin had no idea that they liked us so much!
Life is full of surprises, isn't it?

Maurine came to help me finish my breakfast yesterday.
He is very polite with me and I'm not scared of him.
He is getting a tiny bit more confident with Betty.
He watches her but doesn't come close.
It's taking Maurine long time to become friendly with the humans but he'll do it, I'm sure.

Maurine and I were so busy eating Dreami, we didn't notice how close we were to each other!
I don't trust him because he's a boy-cat, but Betty says I'll be OK because I had a special operation when I was young.
Maurine will be having an operation too when they can get him to the vet.
(Amanda)
It looks as though Auntie Rachel was very close to Maurine when she took this photo, but she wasn't.
She has a special camera which makes far-away things look close.
I'm happy to have my photo taken but Maurine is still getting used to it.
Do you like having your photo taken?
(Amanda)
Not so long ago it was hot and sunny but now it's cold and rainy.
Betty told me that there is going to be a Giant Pumpkin competition later in the year and pumpkins need some nice warm weather for them to grow well.
They might have to call it a Tiny Pumpkin Competition instead.

What a handsome lad you are Maurine! Obviously the food from the kind humans at the Allotments is helping you. I'm sure you'll let them touch you when you're ready, they know this. Just to say, Pip and I are currently putting the 2027 Allotment Cats Calendar together and you'll be in it! 😻

What a lot of lovely messages yesterday!
It meant so much to Auntie Sammy and Uncle Andy that everyone was so kind.
Betty says that people often complain about social media (whatever that is) but there is an amazing side to it too.
Thank you all so much for caring.

I told you about Uncle Andy and Auntie Sammy's rescue cat Jasper.
Yesterday was very sad for them because Jasper left them and went to the 🌈
He was 20 years old.
I know they will miss him very much .
RIP dear Jasper.

RIP Jasper - safe journey to 🌈 Thinking of you Andy and Sammy. 😞 xx
