Excited to start a 2-week research stay as Visiting Professor at the Department of International, Legal, Historical & Political Studies of the University of Milan. I'm grateful to the amazing Federica Favuzza for the hospitality and I look forward to interacting with colleagues and students.
First book launch today in London. Copies arrived. The book is real. I'm a bit emotional - I know there are more important things going on in the world, but a long period of my (academic) life is distilled in here.
😍 Next week, join me in Rome for another launch of my book at Sapienza, where I got my PhD 10 years ago, with Alessandra Gianelli, @federicavioli, Aurora Rasi and Alice Riccardi. That same day the Pope will be there, I'll try to have a selfie with him and the book! (joking, maybe)
I'd like to thank colleagues, friends & family for the amazing book launch in London yesterday. Apart from the opportunity to nerd about my book, it was amazing catching up with many people who have been with me over last seven years. I've pics only of the panel, but thank you all. It was incredible
Next book launch will be in my home city, Messina, on 11 May! Thanks to Marcella Distefano for having put together a great panel with Massimo Starita, Roberto Virzo and Salvo Zappalà. In person and online, link below 1/
Extremely happy to take part in this excellent conference on Investments and Occupied Territory in Rome, on 13 May. I'll present with my academic sister Federica Violi. Thanks to Carlo de Stefano and all the involved colleagues for the invitation. I really look forward to this discussion!
Judgment now available online. The OfS does not come out of it well at all. Final line: “The Final Decision was vitiated by bias because the OfS approached the decision with a closed mind and had therefore unlawfully predetermined the decision.” www.judiciary.uk/judgments/th...

Ruling is blow to OfS after regulator issued fine over handling of protests aimed at professor over trans rights views
Sussex University has overturned a £585,000 fine by England’s higher education watchdog after the high court rejected claims the university had breached free speech regulations involving its former professor Kathleen Stock.
The ruling is a damaging blow to the credibility and management of the Office for Students, after the court rejected the regulator’s lengthy investigation into Sussex’s handling of the protests aimed at Stock over her views on transgender rights and her subsequent resignation in 2021.
