On the bright side, it does make me feel a lot less like my prose lacks craft. I'm no NK Jemisin, but at least I know how to leave things implied rather than overtly spelled out.
Still trying to find a good popcorn read because it's honestly kinda wild to not be able to find one, and I'm starting to realize I've really taken things like 'subtext' and 'clever sentence construction' and 'evocative language' for granted. There is a startling amount of books that lack all three
My other silly thought about Witch Hat Atlier is that it's been a while since I've seen a male character designed to be as fan service-y to a certain demographic as Qifrey.
Very much the sad sort of twink you want to see bent over a table, leaking from his eye.
Sometimes, I'm like 'oh, I adore this character and how painfully messy she is' and I read a review that's like 'yeah, this character is really hard to like' and I can't help but laugh
Anyway Witch Hat Atelier is great and Agott is amazing and I can't wait to watch her grow
